no seat of feeling a pump
no great bull muscle we bloodied up much
me, I never meant to hurt anyone
I break my own skin, I dream about love
a fear upon hearts each time I wake up
you are the body of air I've always drawn from
Shook like dead cell-beleaguered leaves under seasons eager to shift
Believed a perfect courage waited there but it didn't exist
now a distant city shrinks and voices fall
weighed up the sum of hurt we caused against the sum of hurt we felt
these are the thankless works of enmity that make a living hell
the delusion of the permanence of beauty and the slow, dark march of health
and it's shake, shake, sweat, wait out the night
shame and terror over alright
me i get nothing, me I get nothing right
because you are the unfeeling mass that I call to, you are the muscle I march alongside
You are the sure great shakes that I'll waste against when my body Wrecks and I die
Wait maybe they won't forget you
Wait maybe they won't forget you
Wait maybe they won't forget you this time
Wait maybe they won't forget you
Wait maybe they won't forget you
Wait maybe they won't forget you this time
and you're right it's another great waste of our time
hit the double-one sun with the sunrise
suffer too much from a good time
I try, make like the fucking ballet every night
you know how to whither me just right
like what have we done that's been worthwhile
just got to hold tight when we're breaking our skin on the cream tile
tear ourselves down to the hard white all of our friends waiting outside
and it's shake, shake, sweat, wait out the night
shame and terror over alright
me i get nothing, me I get nothing right
because you are the unfeeling mass that I call to, you are the muscle I march alongside
You are the sure great shakes that I'll waste against when my body Wrecks and I die
saw this live when they were performing with Jeff Rosenstock. The Goosebumps from seeing the pure emotion in the finale was so raw and passionate. it made me appreciate being able to attend live music again! vvilko
A hushed and low-lit EP from this Melbourne musician, where dreamlike melodies drift across a bed of tender guitar. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 19, 2023
